Leaving Wednesday for 5 days

ArkansasDon

Adventurist
I finishing up on the the once over this morning to our offroad camper for the wife & I offroad adventure in the Ozark National Forest. Every thing is good, battery full charged, I serviced the wheel bearings a month back, the underneath of the chassis looks great, tires & spare are @ the tire pressure I like, service the Lock n Roll receiver & coupler. We suppose of done this trip during Thanksgiving but the rains cancel the trip until now.
The wife change out the bedding last week end for the winter season bedding, fired up Proplex H2000 heater runs like a champ as always. Both 5lb propane tank & the 20lb tank are full. I called & talked with forest department on forest roads conditions, some are washed out, some with deep ruts, some road under construction do to the storms we had, so I'll bring a extra set of recovery boards I might have to be using them doubled up as bridging so we can complete our trip through out the National Forest from Arkansas into Missouri. I love the winter camping, we will see less people on the trail do to them being fair weather. This time of the year camping makes for good ole dutch oven comfort food & some stay in camp relaxing. Give me a chance to set up our walls for our Rhino Rack 270 with a large Mr. Heater with 15 ft. supply line. Temp's are 50's during the days, nights mid 30's with winds out of the south east 4 to 9 mph should make for a good trip.

Our trip was cut short again, one of these times will make it for it's planned entirety. The weather been unpredictable here in Arkansas & Missouri. Got 2 days in & the winds kicked in to full gust later in the 2nd day, which makes it unpleasant time for tiny camper camping. We've scanned the weather in surrounding areas, it was the same. So we decided to cut our trip short again but we ate good, got a way from the farm, the wife got away from the hospital (where she works at) saw some new country no pictures this time........now on a good news Tuesday the day before we left for our trip I had my annual cancer check up CT Scan, got my results Thursday & my cancer is still in remission (4 yrs now) nothing has changed, still exactly the size as my 1st scan 4 years ago & the grade aka stage is still the same grade, no changes which is good.

In the past Sally & I have gone on trips where burn bans are placed, I'm not a propane fire pit guy, IMO you don't get the heat or the same feeling as you do from actual camp fire......... this last trip we couldn't have a fire do to the winds, we both like camp fires, so when we got home we done some researching on portable propane fire pits, we want one that is small enough that it will fit into our 45" Explorer Trunk on the rack with the rest of our winter gear but have a good amount of BTU's & ain't cheaply made. It's usually the 2 of us only, we are nomads when we travel we found one that looks to be what the size & BTU's we've been searching for, IGNIK Fire Can https://ignik.com/prod.../firecan%E2%84%A2-portable-fire-pit the size will work in the spot we have in our Explorer Trunk the only thing I do not like about this is it doesn't come with a carrying case. Personally I like "all" my gear to have a carrying case or bag (which all my gear has) but! their a place Overland Gear Guy who makes one https://overlandgearguy.com/.../firecan-portable-fire-pit... for it as well as other bags.
So we ordered one with lava rock & the custom carrying bag for us as a Christmas gift.

Dave, it's stored out of the weather when not in use in my shop. I've been working on the interior electrical, doing some upgrades.

I'll be changing the lighting, it produces a cool white light that is dimmable. I added another 12v. socket outlet.
